cart_ctrl delivers long-range, dependable wireless camera control that cuts through even the most congested RF environments. Small, lightweight, and affordable, it keeps your production seamlessly connected from cart to camera.
cart_ctrl runs on the 863-868MHz frequencies, which allows it to not be caught up and congested like most other RF devices, which run on the standard 2.4/5GHz frequencies. These frequencies are open, legal and safe to use in the UK and Europe.
We've had over 1.5km+ of range using cart_ctrl in controlled, ideal situations. And on busy sets, you’ll get up to 350m with line of sight, or up to 175m with some interference between you and the camera. As with any RF device, your environment will always be a factor in its performance.
cart_ctrl is designed to send small amounts of data (with speeds up to 5 Mbps) - perfect for sending camera control commands, iris control, live grading, or wireless DMX solutions.
By placing one cart_ctrl on your camera, and another on your control device of choice (computer, iPad etc), you treat and work with the cameras as if they were connected via a hardwired Ethernet connection. This makes cart_ctrl easy and familiar to set up. All camera-end cart_ctrl units should be set to 'STA' (Station) mode, and your receiving cart_ctrl should be set to 'AP' (Access Point). You can connect up to 8 STA's to 1 AP, so 8 cameras to one central control point.
It's fast to boot and connect, giving you an almost instant connection and control over all the cameras on your set. No lagging behind.
cart_ctrl has been designed to work on any device with an Ethernet connection, but with cinema cameras in mind - and has been tested with such cameras as: ARRI ALEXA 265, ALEXA 35 Extreme, ALEXA 35, Mini LF, Mini, ALEXA 65, ALEXA LF, ALEXA SXT/XT/Classic, Sony Venice 1 & 2, RED Raptor/Raptor XL, Komodo-X/Komodo and will work on much more.
No one wants to add more weight to their camera rig, so we’ve designed cart_ctrl to be as small and lightweight as possible. cart_ctrl is made from a carbon fibre-reinforced nylon, making it not only lightweight but also very tough and resistant to extreme temperatures and abrasion. It also uses industry-standard, familiar connectors to ensure stable, strong and long-lasting reliability. cart_ctrl is built to handle a hard set life and all you can throw at it.
We include 8 coloured rings that sit under your antenna and are easily and quickly swapped out to help match and identify units using standard camera labelling colours.
cart_ctrl is built and shipped from the UK and comes with a 1-year warranty as standard.
If you are in the US and would like a cart_ctrl that works on the 902-928 MHz frequencies, please get in touch with us directly.
